Today has been a Good Day (insert trade mark symbol - cant be bothered finding out how to add it)

Today was the kids school nativity play which I went to with goddesssnoweh and fizzybean. Andrew was just about the cutest shepherd ever (making his sheep dance and clap) and daniel sang in the choir.
I have had a nice peaceful evening so far (mostly spent buying stuff on ebay) as Daniel has been to the school christmas disco.
The icing on the cake today tho, was getting an invite to the BBC Casualty christmas party. Yay for me :) This, being the BBC is a black tie event (It's a Casino Royale themed party!) hence the evenings ebaying - I've managed to buy a tuxedo for about the cost of hiring one, which I might put back on ebay when I'm done with it (Or I might keep for next years Casualty party)

It was my neices 2nd birthday. It was a pool party in my brothers garden and Andrew didn't want to get in the pool.

Me: Andrew, why dont you join the others in the pool - have some fun
Andrew: I dont want to get in they are all splashing.
etc for about half an hour.
Me: Andrew, you are not actually allowed in the pool.
Andrew: ohh, Why not?
Me: Because of reverse psychology.
Andrew: What does that mean.
Me: It means you are not allowed in the pool.
Andrew: ohh, thats not fair, I want to go in the pool.
Me: No, its for older children only.
Andrew: Oh please dad
Me: go on then, just for 2 minutes
Andrew gets in pool

Following my trip to the opticians this morning I now have a different brand of lenses and they feel so much better, I could tell the difference as soon as I put them in. Almost no bluriness in the corners of my eyes and they hardly seem to move at all. I can hardly feel them :)

I was supposed to be going to Stratford on Avon to visit my mate JP today but ended up using up pretty much all of my spare cash on a new pair of glasses I ordered today (To replace the ones held together by Geek Tape™ for the past few months). I hate it when people expect you to pay for stuff that you order before you actually receive it :(

Last week I finally got round to trying contact lenses. After many failed attempts at getting them in (I had to go back for a second appointment as my eyes got to sore the first time) I have just about got the hang of the little buggers and for the most part they seem ok, tho its not often I can forget they are there. Most of the time I can either feel them when I move my eyes or there is a blurring in the inner corner of my eye. Both of these thing do go away sometimes so it is just a matter of their position on my eyes, I will speak to my optician about this on saturday when I go in for a check up. ( tho from what I gather this is about normal for toric contact lenses).

Went to The Carling Academy last night to see Flogging Molly which was an absolutley brilliant gig. For the first time in years I spent most of the night in the mosh/irish jig pit (help each other out! If someone falls down, hand them a pint of Guiness!!!) Contact Lenses ++

Being a rather laid back (Apathetic) person, hate and anger are not emotions I tend to feel or dwell on for long. However, when I have to spend an hour comforting my 8 year old son on his birthday because of the actions, or lack of, from someone who should certainly know better then I get seriously pissed off.
This is not a feeling I like.
